The ECPMF’s NEWSOCRACY event is devoted to discuss media ownership as a topic affecting many European countries, enabling us to assess if and to what extent conflicts of interest may undermine the independence of the information we consume. The NEWSOCRACY event in Prague focuses on new forms of media owners as well as on implications of media ownership concentration on local/regional journalism. Through hands-on knowledge exchange we aim to come up with constructive approaches to promote media plurality.

Have for three decades been dedicated to press freedom and trade union work: 16 years as president of the Danish Union of Journalists 1999-2015; expert in authors’ rights and engaged in collective management organisations; self-regulation and ethical standards. Being in the founding process of the International Media Support, co-signing the MoU of the Council of Europe Safety Platform, board member of the European Centre for Press and Media Freedom. Project on press freedom issues for the Nordic Council of Ministers and the EU.
